Santini grower De Landscheiding
Family business De Landscheiding is in full bloom with santinis every day. For more than 30 years, they have nurtured an unparalleled standard of quality at their two growers. Their production process is steeped in sustainability, quality, diversity and continuity.
Family business
At the helm of this thriving business are father and daughter Hofman. Wilco Hofman started his passion for growing outdoor chrysanthemums at the age of 19. In 1985, he founded his first company for annual chrysanthemums, and the rest is history. Wilco still passionately leads the cultivation. Originally, his daughter Juliska wanted nothing to do with Santinis. She obtained her HBO degree in Pedagogy in 2012. But the enchantment of the chrysanthemum proved irresistible, and she has been working side by side with her father in the family business ever since. Juliska takes care of financial and commercial matters.
Uniform product
A consistently uniform product is at the heart of De Landscheiding. Every day, they harvest a wide range of varieties and colours, making the greenhouses a beautiful mosaic of brilliant hues. Each variety is carefully harvested fresh and sorted by maturity and weight. Through careful selection, they offer a consistently uniform product, with each branch being 100% usable. With dedication and an eye for quality, De Landscheiding strives to produce exclusive and distinctive top-quality Santinis. Their main focal points are durability, firmness, appearance, freshness and shelf life.
Sustainable developments
The company has made a revolutionary change in direction towards a more eco-friendly approach over the past four years. They continue to develop in terms of sustainability and embrace natural principles in their cultivation:
• They compost their own organic waste and use it as a basic nutrient for young plants.
• They nurture their soil life and avoid disinfection, keeping the soil in its natural state.
• They use organic "pesticides" such as beneficial fungi and in-sects.
• Only "green agents" are used for any corrections.
• 100% recycled covers are used.
• Solar energy is fully utilised.
The Landscheiding is not just a grower, but a symbol of commitment to both quality and our planet.
