Phalaenopsis
The Phalaenopsis is the best known of all the orchids and is also called the Butterfly Orchid. It’s a hugely popular houseplant for good reason. It comes in many different varieties that vary in terms of flower colour, quantity of flowers, height of the flower stem and the number of branches that the plant produces. And it also fits perfectly with any interior! Orchids come from one of the largest family of flowering plants. With the right care, the Phalaenopsis can be enjoyed for weeks!
Perfect for Beginners
Of all the orchid varieties, Phalaenopsis is the easiest to care for. That's what makes it ideally suited to novice plant lovers. The Phalaenopsis orchid can flower for up to twelve weeks with the proper care. Don’t forget to give your customers a few basic care tips.
Interior
As well as being easy to maintain, the Phalaenopsis is nice because it comes in lots of varieties. There’s a Phalaenopsis to suit any interior! It doesn’t matter if your interior design style is bohemian, modern, retro or romantic, you’ll always find one to fit.
Transparent pot
In addition to the plant itself with its beautiful flowers, the roots of the Phalaenopsis are also worth a look. Orchids breathe through their roots, both in the wild and in pots too. Sometimes the roots will grow outside the pot. Leave these alone because a healthy orchid needs healthy roots. A transparent pot makes it easy to check the condition of the roots, and thus the health of the Phalaenopsis.
Double pot
Most growers recommend placing the Phalaenopsis in a second pot. Place the transparent cultivation pot in a (transparent) decorative pot. This has several benefits:
- The Phalaenopsis can be easily removed from the decorative pot to check the roots through the transparent cultivation pot.
- A decorative pot ensures that the plant complements every interior and other plants.
- By using a double pot, the decorative pot can be changed easily without disturbing the orchid.
- The Phalaenopsis can be put in a nice macramé plant hanger without any trouble in the cultivation pot.
